MKSAC is branch number 832 of BSAC, and was created in 1976 from the merger of three small local clubs. We have about 90 members, most of whom dive regularly.
MKSAC owns a 6.5-metre Rigid (Hull) Inflatable Boat, or ‘RIB’. During the dive season the boat is kept in a marina on the south coast for members to use – and all are encouraged to have a go behind the wheel!
Yes, Milton Keynes is a long way from the sea. Yet despite being landlocked we have access to our own lake called the Blue Lagoon in Bletchley. It’s 18 metres deep and contains sunken attractions for divers to find.
Our clubhouse is in the Tickford Comunity Centre in Newport Pagnell, next to the Scout Hut. We meet from 19:30 until around 21:30 on Tuesday evenings, and catch up over tea and biscuits while cylinders are filled using our compressor.
